ESSEX BLUES LEGEND TIM AVES & WOLFPACK – DEBUT CD AT LAST!

Tim-at-Newark-by-Ken-Ansted

After making a big impact on the blues circuit this past year Tim Aves, with his band Wolfpack has released a debut album. The album entitled ‘The Wolfpack Burnham Sessions’ is primarily Tim’s own interpretations of songs made famous by Howlin’ Wolf and features nine Wolf classics plus 4 other great tunes. Tim is known as the presenter of Saint FM’s ‘The Blues is Back’ Sunday night blues show and also as leader of one of Essex’s most loved bands the ‘Rockin’ Armadillos’, the line up is Tim on Vocals, Guitar & Harmonica, Rob ‘Tank’ Barry on bass, Paul Lester on drums and Joel Fisk of Hokie Joint fame on guitar, Sheffield’s New Orleans piano specialist Dale Storr guests on three tracks.

The album was recorded at Saint Studios by Pete Crisp and as Tim describes it – “Our music will always be rooted in the music of Howlin’ Wolf – he’s been my biggest influence and inspiration – but the idea of Wolfpack was to take these great Wolf cuts, and the spirit in which they were originally created and give the whole thing a 21st Century twist. Tim adds: “The original plan was to record it all in a day – quick and dirty – but the tracks we ended up with sounded so good, we decided it was worth spending a bit more time and making it into something really special. Even so, what you hear on the album is substantially what you’ll hear at a WOLFPACK gig…I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved with this album. In 30-plus years as a musician, this is the best thing I’ve had the chance to put my name on.”
