Dead Letters is produced by author Paul Grushkin, he co- authored  the renowned ‘GRATEFUL DEAD BOOK OF THE DEAD HEADS’ with Cynthia Bassett and Jonas Grushkin (published by Wm. Morrow (1983)  and now this- a fully authorized portrayal of the Grateful Dead according to their fan base; Deadheads; surely the world’s most devoted fan base? Since their earliest days the Grateful Dead saved many thousands of letters sent to them by the Deadheads writing about on the spectacular gigs they’d attended and asking for tickets. The letters were inspirational, hugely insightful, but most significantly, the envelopes in which they arrived were colorfully illustrated and totally unique within the world of rock. The book collects hundreds of these envelopes, and  a selection of letters, it’s all presented in chapters laid out thematically .The book also includes for detailed historical context many rare  photographs and reminiscences to create a cool trip so to speak, down deadhead memory lane.
